Routes to Literacy Courses

All of these courses aim to improve the basic literacy skills of reading, listening, talking and writing. This is achieved through organising, participating in and reporting on a series of visits and workshops on a theme. Groups will research the places they will visit by read websites for information, plan and organise travel, visit the attraction and take part in the workshop listening to presenters and guides for information, discuss the learning as a group, ask questions and blog using an i-pad in anternet hotspot about their experience for others to read. We will consider concepts like audience, purpose, effectiveness, structure, body language and communicating meaning.
